What Upgrades are Covered?

The program finances various improvements recommended in your Home Energy Assessment that aim for at least a 50% reduction in energy use. This includes cdn.halifax.ca:

  • Insulation: Upgrades to your attic, basement, crawlspace, and exterior walls.
  • Heat Pumps: Highly efficient cold-climate heat pumps listed on Natural Resources Canada’s list. This can also include necessary electrical service upgrades and decommissioning old heating equipment.
  • Electric Hot Water Heaters: Energy Star certified models.

While solar panels are not included in this particular program, other municipal programs may offer financing for them.
